Job Description:
The Nurse Apprentice (NA) works under the direct supervision of the RN and is an active member of the healthcare team. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the NA performs routine duties involving patient care, such as direct patient care or activities of daily living, observing patient status changes, maintaining a clean and safe environment, transporting patients, and other related duties. The Nurse Apprentice must be empathetic, possess good communication and nursing skills, and be able to communicate effectively through written, auditory, or visual means. The primary mode of communication is spoken word, with additional skills in writing, telephone, and manual dexterity required.

Physical Requirements:
The role involves physical activities such as exerting force (lifting objects or patients), bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, and repetitive motions. The employee must cope with mental and emotional stress and operate office and medical equipment safely. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Working Conditions:
Work occurs in well-lit, ventilated clinical settings with potential for frequent interruptions and long hours, including shifts beyond normal hours. Routine exposure to infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, and other risks is expected. Use of PPE is required and provided. The role involves interaction with patients, families, co-workers, and visitors, sometimes under challenging conditions.
