Job summary

Trend Health & Rehab of Meridian is seeking a dedicated CNA Instructor to lead our in-facility Certified Nursing Assistant training program. The role focuses on classroom, lab, and clinical instruction to prepare CNAs for state exams and high-quality resident care.

The ideal candidate is an active LPN with nursing and long-term care experience, plus teaching or staff development background, capable of coaching students with varied learning styles.

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN license in good standing.
• Nursing experience meeting Mississippi Nurse Aide Training Program instructor requirements.
• Long-term care/skilled nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Teaching, staff development, or CNA training experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach and motivate students with different learning styles.
• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for Nurse Aide Training Program instructors.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, skills lab, and clinical instruction to CNA students.
• Teach the approved Nurse Aide Training Program curriculum per Mississippi requirements.
• Demonstrate proper nursing assistant skills and resident-care techniques.
• Supervise students during clinical training and ensure resident safety.
• Evaluate student competency through written testing, skills demonstrations, and clinical performance.
• Maintain attendance, training, testing, competency, and student records.
• Prepare students for successful completion of the CNA program and state competency examination.
• Reinforce infection prevention, resident rights, safety, documentation, and quality-of-care standards.
• Serve as a positive mentor and professional role model for students.
• Work closely with nursing leadership and facility administration to support recruitment and development of future CNAs.
