The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s South Mountain Restoration Center is seeking dedicated Nurse Aides to support residents with daily care, rehabilitation activities, and communication needs. You will provide compassionate assistance, promote a secure and welcoming environment, and participate in training to build skills.

This position provides direct support to residents by assisting with daily care, rehabilitation activities, and communication needs. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:

• Resident Care: Assist residents with hygiene, physical needs, and emotional support to promote a safe and healthy atmosphere
• Rehab Support: Help residents participate in programs that increase independence and overall well-being
• Communication Skills: Use therapeutic communication and report changes in resident status to appropriate staff
• Daily Living: Teach and assist residents with skills such as bed making, personal care, and mealtime habits
• Activity Assistance: Escort residents to appointments and encourage participation in programs and activities
• Skill Development: Attend training sessions to maintain and improve job skills

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Rotating on and off duty days
  • Working weekends and holidays in accordance with assigned schedule
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

Special Requirement:

• This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
