Overview

As a Nurse Aide in Training, employees receive online training and on‑floor training to become a Certified Nurse Aide. Employees who provide excellent customer service, are reliable team players, and have a strong work ethic are eligible for education assistance at no cost. Education assistance may be provided through classes at a Regency location, a local community college or technical school, or an internship with a waiver and skills check that qualifies the employee for certification testing.

Essential Functions

• Provide residents with comfort and safety, detecting and reporting situations that may cause accidents or injuries.
• Carry out duties in accordance with resident care policies and procedures.
• Assist with daily requirements and tasks such as bathing, feeding, dressing, monitoring food intake, care of hair and nails, moving residents, lifting, and transferring.
• Use and log care provided in the Electronic Medical Records system.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff.
• Maintain care of equipment and supplies.
• Walk with ambulatory residents or push a wheelchair as needed.
• Safely perform movements—including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching—of in excess of 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
• Answer call lights promptly and determine the level of assistance required.
• Provide good customer service with tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive situations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Administrator or Nurse Management.
