Central Georgia Technical College is hiring a Nurse Aide Instructor / Program Coordinator to deliver Nurse Aide instruction, develop syllabi, and guide program goals. The role includes mentoring adjunct faculty and ensuring program compliance with TCSG policies.

The position requires an Associate degree in Nursing, GA RN license, BLS, and 2 years in-field patient care, plus 1 year in a long-term care setting. Travel to multiple sites and 12-month, 40-hour weeks are expected.

Qualifications

  • Must upload transcripts/certifications showing conferred degrees/current certifications.
  • Active, unencumbered Georgia RN license.
  • Current BLS card.
  • Two (2) years paid full-time, in-field patient care experience.
  • One (1) year RN experience in a long-term care facility.
  • Train-the-Trainer Workshop attendance certificate from Alliant Health Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Nurse Aide instruction to students in classroom settings, develop syllabi and lesson plans.
  • Teach all phases of the curriculum and use approved testing and grading procedures.
  • Maintain program requirements and complete reports, records and inventories.
  • Mentor adjunct faculty teaching in the discipline as needed.
  • Travel within the college service area for dual enrollment and clinical sites.

Position Summary: Under general supervision, provides Nurse Aide instruction to students in the classroom settings, prepares syllabi and lesson plans. Develops program goals and objectives. The instructor must possess the ability to teach all phases of the curriculum. Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques; use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other record-keeping required; effective use of oral and written communication skills; and knowledge of current in-field procedures. Follows approved course syllabus. Maintains program requirements, attends/completes all professional development training; meet with students and college personnel to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives. Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains accurate inventory of all assigned properties. This position may also serve as a lead instructor to provide mentoring support to adjunct faculty teaching in the discipline. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution. Dual Enrollment instructors are subject to the rules and regulations of the on-site location. Position may involve teaching traditional day and/or evening classes or online classes and will require travel within the college’s service area and additional travel as needed.

Projected Work Hours/Location: This position is projected to work the College’s normal business hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. May require teaching other hours as needed, to include evening and/or weekends. Position will primarily be located at the Macon campus with travel to other assigned college locations as needed, to include dual enrollment sites and clinical sites. This position will be scheduled to work 12 months per calendar year and at 40 hours per week. Teaching assignments may include teaching, and required travel, to one or more campus/site locations, to include dual enrollment programs and assigned locations, or any combination thereof, and may include a combination of face-to-face and distance instructional delivery methods. Faculty may be assigned to any campus/site based on the business needs of the college.

Salary / Benefits: The selected candidate can expect to receive a contingent offer with an annual gross salary in the following ranges: Associate’s Degree ($59,800) up to Master’s degree ($67,300). Actual salary to be determined by the candidate’s highest qualifying degree based on meeting published minimum and preferred qualifications. Position is eligible for state benefits to include retirement, insurance, leave accrual and holiday pay. CGTC is a member of Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) and Employees Retirement System of Georgia (ERS).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned Associate degree in Nursing or related program from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
  • Documented active, unencumbered Georgia RN license
  • Documented current BLS card
  • Documented two (2) year paid full-time, in-field work experience in patient care
  • One (1) year of nursing experience as an RN must be in a long-term care facility (nursing home)
  • Train-the-Trainer Workshop attendance certificate from Alliant Health Solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, provide transcripts of conferred degrees and demonstrate in the employment history possession of one or more of the following:
  • Earned Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related program from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
  • Documented teaching experience in secondary, postsecondary education, or training experience
