Job summary

Tidewater Community College seeks a Nurse Aide Instructor to lead a hands-on CNA exam-preparation course for its non-credit Workforce Solutions program. This adjunct teaching role may require teaching in classrooms, laboratories, and clinical settings across campus and other community locations.

The instructor will present theoretical concepts, medical terminology, and basic nursing skills through lectures, demonstrations, and multimedia materials, with classes possibly scheduled days, evenings,

Qualifications

Must hold an active, unrestricted RN license with a minimum of two years of nursing experience, including at least one year in long-term care.
Ability to design and implement lesson plans that align learning objectives with student outcomes.
Ability to communicate effectively and adapt teaching for diverse learners; experience with CANVAS or other LMS.
Advanced degree or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Create a learning environment that facilitates knowledge and skill acquisition.
Align activities with learning outcomes and provide timely feedback to students.
Deliver instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; include online components as needed.
Schedule includes days, evenings, or weekends; maintain at least one office hour per week per course.
