Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant trainee to support direct patient care and participate in classroom and on-the-job training. You will work with a healthcare team to assist residents and learn essential skills under instruction, with a focus on compassionate, respectful care.

The program emphasizes HIPAA compliance, documentation, and preparation for the state CNA exam, with opportunities for growth in a post-acute care environment at our Mississippi facility.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and passion for caring for residents/patients.
• Prior experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is a plus.
• Ability to communicate positively and appropriately with residents, families, and staff.
• Interest in working with elderly residents/patients and a positive attitude.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Basic computer knowledge and willingness to learn company applications.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team member to assist the current CNA in providing direct care.
• Assist with resident care needs including oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and room cleanliness.
• Complete assignments directed by instructors, including exercises and hands-on learning.
• Attend classroom activities, orientation, and on-the-job trainings.
• Provide safe bedside care and compassionate assistance.
• Communicate effectively with patients and nursing team to ensure quality of care.
• Accompany residents to activities and functions as needed.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Build relationships with patients, families, and team members.
• Comply with HIPAA when handling protected health information.
• Study and take the state exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
