Job summary

CienaHealthcare in Michigan seeks a Nursing Assistant in Training to provide supervised resident care as a preparatory step toward CNA/STNA certification. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and support licensed staff while maintaining resident safety and dignity.

As part of a compassionate team, you will contribute to assessments and care plans, document precisely, and help ensure a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a state approved nursing assistant training program and must pass the state competency exam within 120 days.
• Entry into state nurse aide registry is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding assistance.
• Measure and record vital signs and intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Respond promptly to call lights and changes in condition; report observations to licensed staff.
• Maintain safety, independence, and comfort while documenting activities accurately.
• Keep the environment clean, safe, and comfortable; provide postmortem care when needed.
• Make routine rounds on each resident every two hours and contribute to care plans.

The Nursing Assistant in Training provides supervised resident carein accordance withestablished policies,proceduresand regulatory standards.This role serves as apreparatorystep toward certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA),andassists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.

• Contributes to the residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Graduate/GED

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Must have graduated from a state approved nursing assistant training program and must pass a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
