Job summary

The Orchard Ltd in the United States is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide to provide resident care under supervision. You will perform bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility assistance, and daily living activities, while adhering to safety and care plans.

Responsibilities include documenting activities, responding to call lights, assisting with dining and activities, and maintaining infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Home Maker or related experience.
• References documenting caregiver experience.
• Current TB skin test prior to hire and annual thereafter.
• Cleared background check within 2 years.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with elderly.
• Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities under essential job functions.

• Document resident activity on approved forms in a legible, understandable manner.
• Provide resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transferring, and incontinence care using proper techniques.
• Observe resident condition changes, ensure safety, and report to supervisor.
• Make rounds to check on resident status as directed.
• Respond to call lights promptly.
• Vital signs monitoring as trained.
• Assist with dining service and activity programs as directed.
• Follow safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Understand and follow resident care plans and document accordingly.
• Hear and respond to resident communication.
• Report incidents and complete necessary paperwork.
• Care for laundry and linens per Orchard policy.
• Maintain equipment and facility cleanliness.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; follow infection control and safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and resident rights.
• Attend required in-service trainings.
• Promote resident participation in activities.
• Answer phones appropriately.
• Maintain high customer service standards and resident satisfaction.

Job description

Purpose:

To provide resident care and activity needs under the supervision of the Department Manager and/or Nurse on duty. To provide care in a manner that promotes the best possible quality of life for the resident while residing at The Orchard.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Essential Functions

• Collect, wash, and care for laundry & linens in accordance with The Orchard policy.

• Ensure work areas are clean and safe, ensure policies covering infection control, health and safety, etc. are strictly followed
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations and resident rights
• Attend all required in-service trainings
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in activities
• Answer phone appropriately
• Meet customer service standards in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner with resident satisfaction a priority
• Ability to distinguish and prioritize duties and resident needs (both emotion & physical) v/s task at hand
