Job summary

The Orchard Ltd in Mississippi is seeking a dedicated caregiver to support residents with daily activities, bathing, grooming, and mobility while preserving safety and dignity.

You will follow care plans, monitor conditions, document changes, respond to call lights, and participate in activities. Must be licensed CNA or HHA, with ability to read/write English and a compassionate demeanor.

Qualifications

• Licensed CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Home Maker, or related experience.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Must communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, state officials, and general public.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with elderly.
• Must meet all state health requirements.
• Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities under essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Document resident activity on approved forms in a legible and understandable manner.
• Provide resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transferring, and incontinence care using appropriate techniques.
• Observe changes in resident condition, take action to ensure safety, and report to supervisor.
• Make rounds to check on resident status.
• Respond to call lights promptly.
• Vital sign monitoring when trained to do so.
• Assist with dining service and activity program as directed.
• Understand and follow safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Follow resident care plan and document accordingly.
• Hear, understand, and respond to resident communication.
• Report incidents and complete appropriate paperwork.
• Collect, wash, and care for laundry & linens per Orchard policy.
• Maintain equipment and general facility cleanliness.
• Ensure work areas are clean and safe; follow infection control and health & safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and resident rights.
• Attend required in-service trainings.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in activities.
• Answer phone appropriately.
• Meet customer service standards with resident satisfaction as a priority.
• Distinguish and prioritize duties between resident needs and tasks at hand.
