Responsibilities

• Provide administrative direction and decision making for nursing care during off shifts.
• Interpret philosophy, objectives, standards, and goals of Patient Care Division to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Coordinate admission, transfers, and discharge of patients.
• Schedule and reallocate nursing personnel to ensure adequate staffing.
• Confer with hospital administrators on call regarding operational and management problems.
• Make rounds with nursing staff to assess and plan patient care needs.
• Participate in orientation of new personnel and per diem staff.
• Plan, develop, and hold patient care conferences as necessary.
• Attend divisional meetings and conduct Charge Nurse meetings on shift.
• Ensure delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive patient satisfaction scores.
