Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse for Millbury's Outpatient Treatment Program. The role involves medication administration, documentation, and patient education in a substance use treatment setting.

Requires MA LPN/RN license, CPR certification or within 90 days, and strong communication in a diverse team. Prior substance abuse or acute care experience is preferred. 16 hours/week, schedule includes mornings and alternating days.

Qualifications

• Experience in substance abuse/mental health or acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per policy.
• Control, count, and document onsite medications.

• Verify orders with physician and transcribe orders.

Job description

Location: Millbury - Outpatient Treatment Program

Schedule: Part-time. 16 hours a week,5:00am-1:30pm every other Monday, every Thursday and every other Saturday

Pay rate: $33.00/hour (LPN), $36.00/hour (RN). + $3.00 weekend shift differential

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse Is Responsible For

• Administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy.
• The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
• Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment.
• Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribes physician’s orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use diagnosis as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
