Heart Math Tutoring in Charlotte, NC seeks a Number Concepts Tutor to deliver high-quality, in-person math instruction to K–5 students during the school day, using Heart’s intervention curriculum.
Part-time position (roughly 10–14 hours per week during school hours or 18–20 hours at full-site) with opportunities to assess student progress, collaborate with teachers, and support a growing program serving 1,400+ students across 33 schools in the region.

The Number Concepts Tutor is a part‑time position that leads small group math sessions where they will deliver high‑quality, in‑person instruction to help students build foundational math skills and confidence using HMT’s intervention curriculum adapted from Kathy Richard’s Developing Number Concepts. Tutors will work directly with elementary students during the school day, using structured lessons and hands‑on materials provided by Heart. In addition to delivering instruction, tutors will assess student progress and help create a positive and supportive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, believes all children deserve equal educational opportunities, and is excited to make a direct impact through small group tutoring. Tutors will collaborate with school staff and Heart Math Tutoring team members to ensure students are receiving the help they need to succeed.

Depending on the school assignment, a tutor may work ~10-14 hours a week (half‑site) or ~18-20 hours a week (full‑site) within a school day schedule from August to May. In all, approximately 70% of a tutor’s time is designated for tutoring at your school site, and 30% of time is spent on check‑ins, communications, and computer work.
