Job summary

Heart Math Tutoring in Charlotte, NC seeks a Number Concepts Tutor to deliver high-quality, in-person math instruction to K–5 students during the school day, using Heart’s intervention curriculum.

Part-time position (roughly 10–14 hours per week during school hours or 18–20 hours at full-site) with opportunities to assess student progress, collaborate with teachers, and support a growing program serving 1,400+ students across 33 schools in the region.

Qualifications

• Strong belief that all students can learn and have the potential to perform at or above grade level.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; ability to liaise with teachers, families, and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to engage with diverse student populations and communities.
• Experience using learning management tools and basic software (Word, Excel, email, Salesforce).

Responsibilities

• Lead tutoring for K–5 students in small groups or 1:1 settings.
• Oversee student growth and maintain an enthusiastic learning environment.
• Coordinate with teachers, school staff, and Heart team members; communicate with families.
