Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Nuclear Weapons Effects Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Scientist to develop physics-based and ML models within a GIS-enabled 3D environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5–7 years experience, or MS with 3–5 years experience, or PhD with 0–2 years experience.
• Strong ability to develop modeling and simulation software in C++, Python, Java.
• Desire to work in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop or integrate a wide variety of models into our modeling and simulation software and perform verification & validation.
• Model phenomena including air blast, ground shock, and structural response across fidelity scales.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and continuously learn new areas.
