Job summary

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) in Aiken, SC seeks a Manager for the Control Room SWPF to lead safe, efficient operations at the control room. You will oversee shift CROs, implement procedures, coordinate with DWPF, Saltstone, and ETP, and ensure staffing and safety culture meet DOE expectations.

The role requires nuclear experience, a technical degree, and strong leadership in a high-hazard environment with a focus on process control and incident response.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with nuclear experience in a relevant engineering, operations or maintenance function as defined in the job description.
• Facility qualification process including extensive classroom, formal on-the-job training, and oral board examination conducted by facility management must be completed within one year.

Responsibilities

• Promotes nuclear safety culture and safety education for all workers.
• Manages control room operations personnel on shift per policies and procedures.
• Ensures abnormal and emergency procedures are entered and ERO functions met.
• Interfaces with DWPF, Saltstone, H-Canyon and ET Project for transfers and troubleshooting.
• Implements work window schedules and lockouts to support planned activities.
• Develops plans to address emergent shift needs due to failures or changing conditions.
• Reviews CRO rounds, tracks trends, and directs corrective actions.
• Schedules and tracks surveillance requirements.
• Responds quickly to incidents and preserves sites for investigation.
• Ensures training and staffing levels meet requirements; maintains CONOPS standards.
• Performs performance assessments and other required tasks.
