Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Co is seeking a Senior Nuclear Transport Specialist to establish transportation policies and lead shipments of radioactive and non-radioactive nuclear products. You will report to the US Transport & Logistics Senior Manager and work primarily at the Columbia, SC site with a hybrid work arrangement.

The role requires 8-10 years in regulated logistics, a background in hazardous materials, and knowledge of US import/export regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• 8-10 years in a regulated, global transportation and logistics function; 5+ years shipping hazardous materials.
• Experience with U.S. Import/Export regulations.
• Subject matter expertise in Class 7 – Radioactive Materials Transportation preferred.
• CHMP certification preferred.
• Hazardous Materials Professional certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct and implement the movement of shipments and prepare documentation.
• Develop transportation plans for complex logistics projects with cost considerations.
• Provide periodic reporting on shipments, milestones and supplier performance.
• Collaborate across project teams and cross-functional departments.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and support audits.
• Write and revise safety and regulatory procedures.

About The Role

As a Senior Nuclear Transport Specialist, you will help establish transportation policies and procedures. Additionally, you will provide direction to transport and non-transport personnel to effectively execute the functions and activities of the department. Plan, organize and control shipments of radioactive and non-radioactive, nuclear related products to and from several licensed consignees, including customer reactor sites and other Westinghouse locations.

You will report to the US Transport & Logistics Senior Manager and be located at Columbia, SC. This is a hybrid role requiring 3-4 days onsite at the Columbia plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement the physical movement of shipments and prepare all legally required documentation
• Implement transportation plans for complex logistics projects through analysis of conditions for delivery, regulatory requirements, alternative transportation options, and cost
• Manage appropriate metrics for U.S. Transport Operations. Provide periodic reporting of shipments and deliveries, project milestones, and supplier performance
• Collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional departments
• Perform responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local and site-specific regulations and agreements. Support audit preparation and compliance
• Write and revise procedures to ensure consistency with all safety, regulatory compliance and site work requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 8-10 years in a regulated, global transportation and logistics function - preferred 5+ years of experience shipping / transporting hazardous materials
• Experience of transportation principles and understanding of U.S. Import / Export regulations
• Subject matter expertise in Class 7 – Radioactive Materials Transportation preferred
• Preferred - CHMP – Certified
• Hazardous Materials Professional

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $76,400 to $95,500 per year.
