Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced trainer to develop and deliver high-quality training programs supporting safe, reliable, and efficient nuclear plant operations. You will provide technical instruction to operations, maintenance, engineering, and support personnel.

The role involves establishing training processes, building procedures and qualification programs, supporting startup of operational training, and applying systematic training methodologies to ensure compliance and a strong safety

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, nuclear engineering, physics, chemistry, education, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial nuclear power, naval nuclear propulsion, or related fields.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with systematic approach to training (SAT) and adult learning.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities if required.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Developing, implementing, and delivering high‑quality training programs that support safe, reliable, and efficient nuclear plant operations
  • Providing technical instruction and performance‑based training to operations, maintenance, engineering, and support personnel
  • Supporting the development of a new and evolving training organization for advanced reactor operations
  • Establishing foundational training processes, developing new procedures and qualification programs
  • Supporting the startup and implementation of operational training programs
  • Applying systematic training methodologies, maintaining technical accuracy of training materials
  • Fostering a strong nuclear safety culture
  • Conducting training needs analyses and incorporating operating experience, procedure changes, design modifications, and regulatory requirements into training programs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, nuclear engineering, physics, chemistry, education, or a related technical discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial nuclear power, naval nuclear propulsion, advanced reactor development, nuclear operations, maintenance, engineering, or technical training
  • Experience developing and/or delivering technical training programs
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
  • Experience working in dynamic, startup, or rapidly evolving operational environments
  • Demonstrated ability to write technical procedures, program documents, or instructional materials
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with systematic approach to training (SAT) principles and adult learning methodologies
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative and adaptability
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities, if required.
