Job description

Job Description

Overview:

Nuclear Specialists, Inc. is hiring a Nuclear Technician (Mobile) to operate our MaiCam 180 mobile cardiac imaging system throughout the Central Florida region. This full-time field-based role involves transporting and operating a SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) gamma camera and handling radiopharmaceuticals such as technetium and thallium.

Technicians will travel within a 2-hour radius of Leesburg, FL, delivering in-office nuclear imaging to clinics and medical providers. You’ll follow strict radiation safety protocols, interact with patients and medical staff, and work independently in a mobile diagnostic environment.

We’re looking for candidates with experience in nuclear medicine, military-equivalent imaging roles, or field service work involving radiation or diagnostic equipment. Must be able to manage heavy imaging systems (1,200–1,400 lbs via van lift) and be eligible to pursue Florida licensure upon offer.

What You’ll Do:

  • Transport, set up, and operate mobile gamma camera systems (1,200–1,400 lbs using a lift system)
  • Operate the MaiCam 180 SPECT gamma camera, a van-based nuclear cardiac imaging system using radioactive tracers (technetium, thallium). Safely load/unload using vehicle lift and follow all radiation safety protocols.
  • Deliver diagnostic imaging services across multiple patient locations
  • Ensure safe operation, setup, and breakdown of equipment
  • Maintain records and work independently in the field
  • Represent the company professionally with patients and partners

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Monday–Friday, 36–40 hours/week (8–12-hour days; paid regardless of daily workload)
  • $75,000–$90,000/year + spot bonuses (based on number of patients served)
  • Health care and retirement plan offered (or higher base pay if benefits are declined)

Ideal Candidate:

  • U.S. Military Veteran (e.g., Navy Nuke, Corpsman, Biomedical Tech)
  • 2-year degree (civilian or military equivalent)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record
  • Physically capable of operating heavy mobile imaging equipment
  • Local to Leesburg or willing to relocate (must be eligible for FL licensure upon hire)

Why Join Us?

You’ll play a vital role in delivering lifesaving diagnostics while working with cutting-edge mobile imaging equipment. If you want a mission-driven career with autonomy and impact, we’d love to talk.
