Job summary

Flowserve is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Specialist – Structural Analysis (Nuclear) to provide advanced mechanical analysis supporting Flowserve products for nuclear applications. You will evaluate structural, thermal, vibration, and rotor dynamics to ensure designs meet requirements, codes, and Flowserve standards.

Qualifications

• Nuclear industry experience and familiarity with design-control expectations for nuclear applications.
• Ability to perform structural mechanical analysis using hand calculations and engineering estimates.
• Experience with ASME codes and documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural, thermal, vibration, torsional, lateral, and rotor dynamic analyses for nuclear and other critical-service applications.
• Evaluate designs against customer requirements, codes, and internal standards.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and customer documentation, including ASME code docs when required.
• Review customer specifications and supplier submissions for mechanical design acceptability.
• Participate in design reviews, root-cause analyses, and quality audits.
• Communicate results, risks, and recommendations with internal teams and customers.
• Support product improvements and initiatives to improve analysis tools and processes.
• Review design changes and assess impact on product integrity and cost.
