Job summary

Orano TN, a subsidiary of Orano USA, seeks a Project Engineer in Kernersville, NC to support design, procurement, fabrication, integration and qualification of spent nuclear fuel storage systems. The Project Engineer will be the primary interface with subcontractors, customers and design teams located in a nuclear facility setting.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology; 2–3 years related experience; MS or MBA may substitute for 1–2 years.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and quick thinking.
• Excellent organization, planning and priority-setting skills.
• Ability to communicate well with vendors, customers and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procurement specifications, functional requirement documents, integration, test and qualification plans for SF storage, transfer and transport systems.
• Oversee fabrication by subcontractors; review fabrication documents to ensure contract and design compliance.
• Prepare fabrication documents to support internal fabrication activities.
• Support design efforts for new products to enhance fabricability and operability.
• Prepare design changes and non-conformance evaluations; provide technical direction to subcontractors.
