Job Summary

Orano TN, a subsidiary of Orano USA, is hiring a Civil/Construction Project Engineer to support the design, procurement, construction, installation, and inspection of systems and components for spent nuclear fuel storage systems, including Horizontal Storage Modules such as NUHOMS, EOS, and MATRIX.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare procurement specifications and design drawings for Horizontal Storage Modules.
  • Review concrete contractor documents, including material testing reports, drawings, routers, special process procedures, and inspection and test procedures.
  • Prepare design changes and conduct non‑conformance evaluations during fabrication.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to subcontractors.
  • Design and evaluate steel structures and embedments installed in precast concrete modules.
  • Assist customers with concrete pad design and module layout on the pad.
  • Oversee and provide technical assistance during erection of precast units at spent fuel storage facilities.
  • Support development of new concrete module designs or improve existing ones, focusing on ease of casting, transporting, and installing and incorporating field lessons learned.
  • Design and evaluate structures, systems, and components in compliance with industry codes such as ASME BPVC, ACI‑349, and AISC 360.
  • Interface with designers, project engineers, and analytical disciplines to ensure constructability.
  • Review rebar and construction drawings.
Required Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Structural) plus 0–2 years related experience; an advanced degree may substitute for additional years of experience as specified.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and priority‑setting skills.
  • Strong communication skills with vendors, customers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Experience with mix designs, rebar detailing, batching, and placement of concrete.
  • Experience with precast or cast‑in‑place concrete in a nuclear or DOT environment.
  • Flexibility for short‑term site assignments up to six months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Familiarity with design, analysis, and testing of concrete and steel structures.
  • Experience with ACI 318, ACI 349, ASTM C94, PCI Manual, or AWS D1.1 welding code.
  • Experience with AISC standards for steel structures.
  • Experience in construction management.
  • Experience with design and stress analysis for reinforced concrete structures.

Pay Range: $80,000–95,000 per year.
