Job summary

Strategy Consulting Team (SCT) seeks multiple Engineer/Physical Scientist candidates to support DOE/NNSA NA-11 research, development, and evaluation work. Selected candidates will provide technical, analytical, programmatic, and integration support across national laboratories, academia, and mission partners.

Positions may be filled at junior or senior levels based on experience and contract needs, with travel to DOE facilities and conferences as required.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in engineering, physics, or a closely related physical science.
• At least five years of relevant experience at NNSA, NNSA national laboratory, or equivalent.
• Experience in high energy density physics, primary/secondary weapons physics, nuclear physics, energetic materials, or applied explosives research.
• DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain/maintain clearance.
• Ability to analyze complex scientific information and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Experience supporting R&D projects, technical programs, or formal scientific reviews.
• Strong technical writing, briefing, collaboration, and stakeholder-communication skills.
• Ability to work with Federal Program Managers, scientists, engineers, national laboratories, and senior stakeholders.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and engineering expertise in NA-11 programs.
• Serve as a technical advisor or program management specialist for R&D projects.
• Review projects, data sheets, and plans for sufficiency, feasibility, and cost effectiveness.
• Evaluate progress, deliverables, risks, and coordination opportunities.
• Analyze nuclear-related information from labs, papers, and reports.
• Develop and document technical reviews of projects and activities.
• Participate on review teams evaluating readiness, risks, and budgets.
• Prepare assessments, white papers, and briefing materials.
• Provide rapid-response analyses for time-sensitive needs.
• Support program plans, milestones, and tracking documentation.
