Job summary

Napakiak Ventures in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Nuclear Facility Safety Engineer to oversee safety analyses and design reviews for nuclear power systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operation. Candidates will develop safety basis documentation per 10 CFR 830, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor engineers while advancing nuclear safety practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, chemistry, or physics with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience developing safety basis documentation per 10 CFR 830 and DOE directives.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive safety analyses of nuclear power systems and waste handling procedures.
Lead design reviews for nuclear facility systems in line with ASME/NRC standards.
Develop and review safety documentation and engineering calculations using Python, C++, and Fortran.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on safety tasks.
Maintain NRC-compliant records and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
