Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Safety Analyst to join our Facility Safety Engineering team at the Idaho Falls, Idaho location. The role features a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off and involves managing DSAs and TSRs to ensure compliance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B.

You will work with facility operations, researchers, and project managers to develop practical safety solutions, provide peer reviews, and apply USQ processes, with preferred experience in MCNP or MicroShield.

Qualifications

• Degree in physics/health physics/nuclear/engineering with required experience
• Experience developing technical safety documentation and performing hazard/accident analyses
• Familiarity with 10 CFR 830/DOE-STD-3009 and NRC frameworks
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance (US Citizenship)

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update DSAs and TSRs for existing facilities and major modifications
• Perform hazard identifications and accident analyses
• Execute USQ process including PISAs and interim controls
• Review operating procedures and safety basis documentation
