Job summary

Framatome North America seeks an experienced safety engineering professional in Lynchburg, VA, to provide technical oversight of nuclear safety analyses and lead multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.

You will ensure regulatory compliance with NRC licensing requirements, manage safety programs, and communicate findings to senior management and customers. A bachelor’s in engineering and 5+ years of nuclear safety experience are required.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in nuclear or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with reactor physics and/or thermal hydraulics.
• Experience with regulatory review processes and licensing activities.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting results to customers or regulators.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of safety analyses and safety basis documents for nuclear facilities.
• Review deterministic and probabilistic safety analyses for reactor transient modeling.
• Ensure NRC licensing compliance and associated topical reports.
• Lead engineering teams, including hiring, training and performance management.
• Manage complex, multi-disciplinary safety analysis programs and communicate findings to senior management.
