About the Role:
An energy services company serving the oil and gas, power, and industrial markets is expanding its nuclear and DOE business and needs a quality engineer to run the day-to-day health of its nuclear QA program. You will be based at the Spring, TX facility while the team prepares for an ASME Section III certification survey, and you will be directly involved in getting through that review and keeping the certificate current. - Keep the QA program working across the whole chain, from supplier selection through final test
- Serve as a quality point of contact when customers, utility audit teams, ASME, the authorized inspection agency and its inspectors, or NRC vendor inspectors visit
- Help prepare for ASME certification surveys and keep certificates in good standing afterward
- Plan and perform internal and supplier audits as a qualified NQA-1 auditor, lead them once you hold Lead Auditor status, and host customer audits
- Review nonconformances and corrective actions, and decide whether a deviation needs a Part 21 evaluation
- Help assemble and review Section III Code data report forms
- Write receiving, in-process and final inspection requirements, including test plans with hold and witness points for the authorized inspector
- Support supplier qualification and the approved supplier list, including commercial grade dedication and oversight of NDE and other special-process vendors
- Keep measuring and test equipment under control, guard against counterfeit or suspect items, and confirm welder and NDE personnel qualifications
- Write and maintain QA procedures, work instructions and quality records according to retention rules
- Coach inspection staff and work with customers, vendors and internal teams to settle quality problems
- Turn quality data into trend charts that drive corrective action and improvement
What You Bring:

- Qualification as an auditor under an NQA-1 program, with training and certification records you can share before the interview
- Participation in at least one NQA-1 audit
- Hands-on experience with nonconformances, corrective actions and Part 21 evaluations
- Working familiarity with ASME Section III quality requirements
- Comfort analyzing data and building trend charts
- A detail-oriented, organized approach and the ability to manage several projects at once
- Clear written and verbal communication
