Job summary

Hatch is seeking a senior engineer to join the Power Business Unit in Pittsburgh, supporting nuclear power projects from studies to owner’s engineering. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams, leading technical design, mentoring staff and engaging with clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role emphasizes project management, business development and a strong command of nuclear codes and standards, with potential short-term travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from a recognized college.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience within the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with light water reactors and advanced reactor designs.
• Ability to manage and motivate individuals to attain quality of deliverables, cost and schedule objectives.
• Strong deliverable focus and ability to plan the work.
• Broad knowledge of codes and standards for the nuclear industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients (both written and orally).
• Experience in engineering, procurement and construction, and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and deliver high quality engineering and technical consulting services for nuclear power projects.
• Manage assigned studies and projects for clients including interfacing and reporting to clients, monitoring and managing budget and schedules for nuclear power projects or studies.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff on specialized nuclear technical design and the nuclear engineering design process.
• Provide support to other regions in the development and delivery of projects within Hatch.
• Review and approve technical deliverables.
• Support business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals, pursuit plans for the nuclear Sub-BU.
• Manage the proposal process for RFPs, EOIs, RFQs, and other formats.
• Adhere to and promote the Hatch culture.
