Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation seeks Nuclear Engineer I or II (Electrical Procurement) at the McGuire Nuclear Plant. The role supports procurement engineering activities, including equivalency evaluations, dedication packages, and QA testing to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across nuclear sites.

Preferred location is MNS, with CNS and ONS as options. Travel is 5–15% with occasional overnight stays; relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a BS.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience for Engineer I; 2–4 years plus nuclear experience for Engineer II.

Responsibilities

• Support the generation of engineering equivalency evaluations and commercial grade dedication packages.
• Provide cost-effective engineering and testing solutions to improve plant performance and safety margins.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory guidance in the nuclear industry.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation related to engineering and dedication work.
• Coordinate with teams and maintain accurate records.
