Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and power plant engineering knowledge in support of nuclear projects. You will prepare calculations, evaluations, and reports, and perform equipment sizing, optimization, and selection to meet client needs.

Hybrid schedule with in-office work 3 days per week. Requires a BSME from an ABET-accredited program and 1+ year nuclear power experience or MSME, plus strong technical writing and MS

Qualifications

• Requires a BSME from an ABET-accredited program with strong thermodynamics and energy conversion interest.
• 1+ year nuclear power industry experience or MSME from ABET-accredited program.
• Strong technical report writing and ability to prepare calculations and reports.
• Practical knowledge applying mechanical engineering principles to project design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, evaluations, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection in response to project needs.
• Support project teams with system engineering, design, modification, and analysis of power plant mechanical systems.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification of designs.
