Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Operations Instructor to design, deliver, and evaluate operator training across varied settings, including classroom and simulator environments.

The role requires licensing or certification such as RO/SRO and strong communication, organizational, and training skills for outage work and site emergencies. This hybrid role supports flexible onsite engagements and compliance with NRC security requirements.

Qualifications

• RO or SRO license or SRO Certification is preferred.
• Candidates should possess expertise/familiarity with power plant operations.
• Strong communication, written and oral skills are required.
• Ability to present training material to varied class sizes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design training for all operator training programs.
• Develop and conduct classroom and simulator training.
• Develop and administer examinations for operator training programs.
• Pursue qualifications to support operator training programs (e.g., SRO, simulator roles).
• Maintain SRO Certification to support instructional needs.
• Assist with in-processing for contract employees during outages.
• Support plant refueling outages by transitioning to plant staff.
• Function as a member of the site Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
