Job summary

Holtec International is seeking an HVAC Design Engineer II to design HVAC systems for SMR-300 power plant buildings in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The role interfaces with other engineering disciplines and licensing groups and supports integrated system design.

The position requires a BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, strong HVAC knowledge, 4–6 years’ experience, and excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Strong academic background in HVAC.
• 4-6 years of experience in HVAC design for the energy industry.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for power plant buildings.
• Assist contractors with HVAC system designs and recommendations.
• Consult with vendors to develop new designs for challenges.
• Review P&ID/PD diagrams, system descriptions, specs, and calculations.
• Develop breathing air and leakage calculations for enclosed spaces.
• Inspect vendor/contractor designs for standards compliance.
• Collaborate in a project-driven, integrated engineering team.
