Duke Energy in Seneca, SC is seeking a Maintenance Planner to develop maintenance work documents, PMT procedures, and post-maintenance test requirements to ensure safe, efficient operation of the unit.

You will transform work requests into work orders, define tasks, and prepare comprehensive work packages while coordinating with craft teams to meet outage and online schedules. Strong technical and independent work skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED or technical degree plus 3+ years related experience.
  • Preferred: 2-year technical degree in Mechanical, I&C, or Electrical disciplines.
  • 5 years nuclear maintenance experience or 10 years nuclear plant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Validates component and plant discrepancies on work requests.
  • Transforms WRs to WOs and walks down jobs for needed info.
  • Develops work order tasks for support groups, PMT, and provides work instructions.
  • Identifies man-hours for craft maintenance packages to meet Online/Outage scheduling.
  • Defines procedures, drawings, equipment and materials required to perform work packages.
  • Facilitates package preparation by identifying isolation requirements, scaffold, and temporary power tasks.
  • Verifies work instructions comply with station procedures.
  • Reviews work plans for Engineering Changes.
  • Identifies corrections to Equipment Data Base, BOMs, Drawings, and Plant Procedures.
  • Processes PM revision and PM change requests.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing maintenance work documents, administrative controls, specific work instructions, and post-maintenance test requirements to provide instructions to plant personnel to ensure safe and efficient operation of the unit, performance of troubleshooting activities and corrective maintenance in accordance with AD-MN-ALL-0005, UFSAR, technical specifications, vendor recommendations, and environmental compliance guidelines. This position is responsible for preparing and updating work packages to resolve condition reports, routine activities, reported deficiencies, or enhancements to ensure completion within the established deadlines and schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Validates identified component and plant discrepancies identified on work requests.
  • Transforms Work Requests (WR) to Work Orders (WO), walks down jobs to identify needed support information.
  • Develops work order tasks for support groups, Post Maintenance Testing (PMT), and provides work instructions.
  • Identifies man-hours for craft corrective and preventative maintenance work packages to meet the "Online" and "Outage" scheduling requirements for the maintenance department.
  • Define procedures, drawings, equipment and materials required to perform work packages.
  • Facilitate package preparation by identifying isolation requirements (if required), scaffold, temporary power tasks, etc.
  • Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable station procedures.
  • Reviews and plans work order instructions for EC's (Engineering Changes).
  • Identify and request corrections and revisions to the Equipment Data Base, Bill of Materials, Drawings, and Plant Procedures.
  • Responsible for the processing of Preventive Maintenance Revision (PMR) PM change assignments requests that are submitted for changes to existing PM's and creation of new PM's.
Basic/Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED or Technical degree AND three (3) years minimum required related experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • 2yr technical degree in discipline in which applying or equivalent (i.e. Mechanical, I&C, Electrical)
  • Microsoft Office Products
  • 5 years nuclear maintenance experience or 10 years nuclear plant experience
  • Self-motivated with a strong job ownership and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic Work Management skills
Working Conditions

Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees must live within a reasonable commute to their designated Duke Energy facility, not greater than 50 miles one way. Employees are expected to report to their assigned Duke Energy facility as required and directed by their manager, on average 3 full workdays per regular work week.

Specific Requirements
  • 5 years technical experience (directly related experience in discipline in which applying) or a combination of prior planning and technical experience.
  • Considered technical experience: Generic to a discipline (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, I&C) or specific to a trade (HVAC, Valves, Pumps etc.) or equivalent military experience.
