Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a summer internship in Minneapolis, MN, with a May 24, 2027 start. The intern will support the nuclear oversight department in auditing processes, develop Excel/database tools, and perform field observations at multiple Minnesota sites.

Travel to Monticello and Welch may be required, with in-person work under a hybrid policy. Qualified candidates are current engineering students, able to commit full-time during the summer and bring self-motivation plus programming skills.

Qualifications

• Current student, freshman or higher pursuing a degree in Engineering at an ABET accredited college or university.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and commute to the designated work location in-person per hybrid policy.
• In-state travel, access to a car preferred.

Responsibilities

• Excel spreadsheets and database creations.
• Support audit team on technical reviews.
• Perform field observations.
• Documentation reviews.
