Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to calibrate and administer radiopharmaceuticals, perform PET/CT imaging, and maintain compliant records. The role requires strong radiation safety practices and the ability to train new staff.

The candidate will operate PET/CT imaging equipment, ensure quality control, and collaborate with physicians while providing patient care and education. A timely CT certification is preferred within 24 months of hire, with LMS accessibility

Qualifications

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification from NMTCB or Nuclear Medicine Technology certification from ARRT upon hire.
  • Graduate from a specialty training program.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Certified CT Technician within 24 months of hire through ARRT or NMTCB.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic imaging, radiology, radiation safety and medical equipment management.
  • Preceptor skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to handle non-controlled medications and radioactive pharmaceuticals.
  • Ability to meet care qualifications for patients in the assigned clinical age range.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and assay isotope doses; prepare radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Explain procedures and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
  • Position patients and provide radiation protection according to safety standards.
  • Calibrate equipment and perform camera and computer quality control.
  • Operate equipment for radionuclide imaging, including PET and CT studies.
  • Process and format computer studies and images.
  • Perform semi-in-vitro wet-lab studies.
  • Take call and perform emergent studies when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using radiology information and electronic medical record systems.
  • Maintain records of isotope receipt, use, storage and disposal.
  • Perform radiation surveys, wipe tests, contamination surveys, and radiation-spill containment and cleanup.
  • Report equipment irregularities and malfunctions to leadership or maintenance personnel.
  • Share responsibility for ordering supplies and isotopes.
  • Act as a Nuclear Medicine liaison and support physicians.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians and employees.
  • Schedule patients as requested by the Team Leader.
  • Participate in training new employees and students as necessary
