Job summary

Medix is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Austin, TX. The role requires competency in nuclear medicine and radiographic procedures, patient positioning, and safety explanations. You will ensure timely PACS transmission and maintain quality assurance of the NM schedule.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited Nuclear Medicine program and can communicate clearly with patients while following established protocols and providing compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Requires graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
• Competence in nuclear medicine examinations per established protocols.
• Ability to explain procedures and safety to patients.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency following established protocols for nuclear medicine and radiographic exams.
• Ensures proper patient and equipment positioning.
• Selects appropriate nuclear medicine and radiographic techniques.
• Processes and displays NM data on workstation platforms.
• Performs daily quality assurance of the NM schedule.
• Provides excellent care and service to patients.
• Explains exams, medications, radiation safety, and positioning to patients.
• Tracks patients from exam start to discharge.
• Reviews referral orders and ensures PACS transmission of images and notes.
