Qualifications

• Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program or equivalent.
• ARRT certification in nuclear medicine or NMTCB certification.
• American Heart Association BLS within 60 days of hire.
• Preferred: one year post-graduate experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams and procedures as requested by the medical staff.
• Assists the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
• Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, administrative documentation and archival of exams and procedures.
• Completes documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving and retrieval of exams.
• Verifies written/electronic orders and related health information to insure the timely performance and reporting of NM exams and procedures.
• Participates in the implementation, monitoring and improvement of the hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.
• Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance for state and/or federal regulations.
