Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the SSH Imaging Nuclear department in Weymouth, MA. The role supports day shifts on a per-diem basis, with weekend and weekday shifts available and no on-call requirements.

Under supervision, you will perform a full range of nuclear scans, ensure quality control, and maintain radiation safety and patient care standards in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program.
• Certified by NMTCB or ARRT.
• Massachusetts MA Radiation Control Program license.
• BLS - Basic Life Support within 180 days of hire.
• Maintain CEU records with manager during employment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to department policies and procedures, including hours, attendance, vacations, and time off.
• Provide patient care: reception, explanation of procedures, injections, flow studies, planar and whole-body imaging, cardiac imaging and SPECT.
• Perform quality control/equipment operations: intrinsic/extrinsic floods, bar phantom, uniformity tests, dose calibrator checks, thyroid probe QC.
• Follow Radiation Safety procedures and manual guidelines, including pregnancy policy and waste management.
• Uphold general health and safety, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and biosafety policies.
• Utilize technology: Workday, intranet, Epic, and gamma camera computer systems.

Compensation Pay Range

$42.42 - $57.09

Per-diem, 10hr shifts, weekend and weekday shifts available, NO CALL, 06:30am - 5:00pm

Job Requirements

Minimum Education - Preferred

Completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program and be certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or ARRT Certification.

Minimum Work Experience

Prefer one (1) to two (2) years of experience:

Required Licenses / Registrations

• NMT (NMTCB) – Nuclear Medicine Technology (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) Or
• NMT (ARRT) – Nuclear Medicine Technology (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) And
• NMT (MA) - Nuclear Medicine Technology (Massachusetts Radiation Control Program)

Required Classes/Certifications

BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) within 180 days of hire

Required Additional Knowledge, And Abilities

Employees must produce their CEU records to their manager prior to start date and on an ongoing basis thereafter. Technologists in this position are responsible to maintain CEU activity on-site for a period of two years longer than the technologist’s last licensure renewal date.
