Summary

This role involves preparing and administering radioactive medication to patients for therapeutic or imaging purposes, performing nuclear cardiac imaging, providing technical support to medical professionals, and being on-call as required.

Job Duties
  • Perform high-quality nuclear cardiology procedures for cardiac outpatients, including explaining tests and safety precautions, operating equipment, assisting during testing, observing patients, and reporting abnormalities.
  • Operate cameras and other imaging equipment to monitor effects of administered drugs on tissues and organs.
  • Prepare and administer appropriate dosages of radiopharmaceuticals via injection or inhalation.
  • Employ safety methods to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
  • Oversee ordering, storage, handling, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Assist in quality assurance activities related to calibration, maintenance, policies, procedures, and ICAL activity.
  • Maintain required documentation and records.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree
  • One year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle confidential data discreetly
  • Ability to monitor and assess performance for improvements
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine equipment and safety protocols
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (State of Pennsylvania) upon hire
  • CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech NMTCB or RT - Registered Technologist Radiology certification (State of Pennsylvania) upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in nuclear medicine
Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs., frequent sitting/standing, keyboard use, and role-specific activities such as kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
