Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia seeks a part-time Nuclear Medical Technologist to cover on-call, weekend, weekday, and holiday shifts as needed. You will perform nuclear medicine procedures, quality control, and venipuncture to support patient care in a busy department.

Responsibilities include preparing radiopharmaceuticals, operating SPECT imaging systems, and ensuring safety policies are followed. Experience with nuclear cardiology and SPECT is highly desirable; ARRT/NMTCB registration is required or

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• A baccalaureate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology is desirable.
• Must be registered by ARRT or NMTCB; registry eligible considered.
• Employee has 90 days to become registered.
• Must fulfill education requirements above.
• Prior experience in a busy hospital setting is highly desirable.
• Experience with SPECT is highly desirable.
• Experience with Nuclear Cardiology is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
• Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients after explaining procedure and obtaining history.
• Positions patients to obtain complete diagnostic studies.
• Calibrates thyroid uptake systems, Geiger counters, dose calibrators and other equipment.
• Calibrates and operates imaging systems including SPECT to image and process studies.
• Develops film and reviews them with Radiologist.
• Follows departmental safety policies including infection control and radiation safety.

Education

Graduate of a school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology desirable.

Must be registered by ARRT or NMTCB (or eligible; 90 days to become registered).

Registry eligible individual assigned a somewhat lower status pending certification.

Employee has 90 days to become registered.

Must fulfill education requirements above.

Prior experience in a busy hospital setting is highly desirable.

Experience with SPECT is highly desirable.

Experience with Nuclear Cardiology is highly desirable.
