Job Responsibilities
- Perform radionuclide procedures, including organ imaging and function studies, and assist physicians with therapeutic use of radioisotopes under safety guidelines.
- Select and operate Nuclear Medicine equipment as directed.
- Ensure radiation protection for yourself and patients, following safety protocols.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive tracer compounds.
- Calibrate equipment and assay radionuclides.
- Inspect radiopharmaceutical packages according to regulations.
- Maintain records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal, complying with regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and contamination-free conditions of rooms and equipment.
- Follow NRC, State DEP, and JCAHO guidelines and practices.
- Evaluate images using PACS workstation for diagnostic quality.
- Rotate assignments in Nuclear Cardiology and PET/CT as needed.
- Perform clerical duties including using EPIC, PACS, and other systems for patient studies.
- Be responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and participate in on-call duties as required.
- Greet patients and adhere to A.I.D.E.T. standards.
- Modify and deliver care based on patient needs, considering age, culture, and communication barriers.
- Follow organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Preferred:
- Minimum of one year of Nuclear Medicine experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Nuclear Medical Technologist License.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Lift at least 25 lbs., push and pull at least 50 lbs., stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
