Position Summary
Shift: PRN, day shift 7am-3:30pm
Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and operating cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
- Positioning patients and selecting anatomic and technical factors accurately.
- Ordering, preparing, administering, and disposing of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
- Following radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensuring prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history.
- Ensuring equipment is properly functioning, reporting issues or malfunctions to appropriate personnel, and locking/tagging out equipment if necessary.
- Assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
Certifications/Licenses:
- BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) prior to hire; ARC CPR for Professional Rescuers accepted upon hire with renewal to BLS Provider from AHA.
- One or more of the following:
- Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from NMTCB obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from ARRT obtained within 12 months of hire.
