Job summary

Providence Health & Services is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures with advanced skills in data processing and image production for licensed practitioners. Required qualifications include AMA approved radiologic technologist training, national certifications (NMTCB/NMT), California NMTC certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved radiologic technologist training program.
• National Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board upon hire.
• National Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology upon hire.
• California Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• 6 months experience during the last year, or a minimum of 2 years full-time experience with an absence from nuclear medicine of no more than 1 year.

Job description

Role Overview

The nuclear medicine technologist provides health care services using radionuclides to assist in diagnosis and treatment. He/she has the advanced skills to perform a wide variety of nuclear medicine procedures, computer processing of data and other technical tasks necessary to produce images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed practitioner. He/she exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics while providing appropriate care essential for successful completion of procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Completion of an AMA approved radiologic technologist training program.
• Upon hire: National Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
• Upon hire: National Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Upon hire: California Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 6 months experience during the last year, or a minimum of 2 years full‑time experience with an absence from nuclear medicine of no more than 1 year.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year experience in nuclear medicine (not required if recent graduate from an approved technician training program).
