Job summary

St. David's HealthCare in Round Rock, Texas is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist responsible for administering radioactive materials and conducting advanced imaging procedures. Candidates are expected to hold an Associate Degree and preferably have experience in acute care settings.

Qualifications

  • Registry in Nuclear Medicine from ARRT or NMTCB required within 90 days of hire.
  • State Registered Radiologic Technologist in Texas.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.

Job description

Job Summary And Qualifications

Provides health care services using radionuclides to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs nuclear medicine procedures and related techniques producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment, maintains medical ethics, and provides appropriate patient care throughout the procedure.

Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed, pharmaceutical grade, radioactive materials to patients.
  • Collect and document data produced by radiation emitted from human tissue using complex detection and analyzing equipment.
  • Perform quality control on all equipment and radioactive materials in accordance with policy and regulation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director or Manager.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree.
  • Graduate from an AMA‑approved program for Radiologic Technology and/or Nuclear Medicine or equivalent.
  • Preferred: One to two years of experience in an acute care setting as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Licenses and Certificates
  • Registry in Nuclear Medicine from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required within 90 days of hire.
  • State Registered Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
