Job Description

This is a casual/per diem position located at Lake Forest Hospital. On-call and holiday rotation are required.

The Nuclear Med Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Obtain complete patient history for radiologist to assist in rendering results. Instruct and prepare patient for exam.
2. Prepare and administer radioisotopes orally or by injection.
3. Position patient and equipment according to the type of procedure being performed.
4. Conduct diagnostic scans; review scans with radiologist as needed.
5. Perform all required scanning of paperwork and PACS duties.
6. Receive orders, schedule patients, and coordinate nuclear medicine procedures with other services when necessary.
7. Perform all equipment, quality control, and safety procedures.
8. Maintain records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal.
9. Maintain and clean work area and equipment; replenish supplies as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

1. ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification
2. IEMA certification
3. BLS certification through American Heart Association
4. 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
5. 1 to 3 years of related work experience
