Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Park, FL is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform and supervise Nuclear Medicine procedures with expertise in camera acquisition, processing, and radionuclide administration. You will collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and patient care continuity, while maintaining safety and quality controls.

The role requires strong knowledge of physiology, scintigraphic equipment, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; PRN schedule, on-site

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of human physiology is required.
  • Knowledge of scintigraphic equipment, acquisition computers, and processing stations.
  • Knowledge of Hot Lab equipment.
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to image quality and radiation safety.
  • English literacy and communication with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment meets quality control requirements and perform patient examinations.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure imaging and continuity of patient care.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures with camera acquisition and computer processing.
  • Maintain room readiness and stock supplies; document work orders for malfunctions.
  • Enter quality control data and exam charges into the Nuclear Medicine Information System and OCC.
  • Verify examiner/patient assignment on images before release; rectify accession numbers if needed.
  • Identify patients using approved guidelines to confirm accuracy.
  • Review physician requests for clinically valid exam indicators.
  • Prepare radionuclide, explain procedures to patients, and administer radionuclides aseptically.
  • Other duties as assigned.
