Job summary

Centra Health is seeking an Advanced Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in diagnostic, therapeutic, and tracer studies. The role involves calculating doses, preparing stock solutions, and ensuring safety protocols for patients and staff.

The position requires ARRT or SNMMI certification, CPR, and at least two years of Nuclear Medicine experience. A full-time hire eligible for the generous benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Requires ARRT or SNMMI Nuclear Medicine certification, accredited program completion.
• Preferred experience: at least two years in Nuclear Medicine.
• CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously under physician guidance.
• Detects and maps radiopharmaceuticals in patients using a camera to produce images.
• Produces computer-generated or film image for physician interpretation.
• Calculates, measures, and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals per physician’s prescription.
• Performs quality control checks on equipment or cameras.
• Maintains and calibrates radioisotope and laboratory equipment.
• Disposes of radioactive materials following safety procedures.
• Records and processes results of procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients and communicates waiting times.
