Job summary

Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Nuclear Medicine Clinical Technologist (Band 6) to join the Darlington Memorial Hospital team. You will perform radiopharmaceutical administration, bone densitometry (DEXA) and contribute to a comprehensive nuclear medicine service, including quality control and patient care.

The role offers opportunities for training, development, and cross-site work within the department, with interview on 26 November 2026 and 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Degree in Clinical Physiology or Clinical Technology required.
• Post-graduate diploma in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent.
• Expect to be on the Voluntary Register for Clinical Technologists or working toward registration.

Responsibilities

• Administration of radiopharmaceuticals by oral, IV and intradermal techniques.
• Follow protocols to provide accurate and timely clinical results for nuclear medicine procedures.
• Quality control testing of equipment and remedial action as needed.
• Contribute to patient care and emergency action if required.
• Communicate complex procedures clearly to patients and relatives.
• Perform bone densitometry (DEXA) scans.
