Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita in Sahuarita, AZ, seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I per diem to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision. You will prepare radiopharmaceuticals, operate gamma cameras and PET scanners, ensure radiation safety, and document all interactions in the EMR to support accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of nuclear medicine procedures experience in clinical/hospital settings.
• 2–4 years of Nuclear Medicine Tech experience in acute care preferred.
• Knowledge of NRC, state and federal regulations for nuclear medicine and safety.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently and with radiology teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures following physician orders.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenous or oral.
• Assesses patient condition and safety prior to procedures.
• Operates and calibrates imaging equipment (gamma cameras, PET scanners).
• Maintains QA/QC records and regulatory compliance.
• Ensures safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Documents procedures and patient interactions in the EMR.
• Collaborates with Radiologists, Cardiologists and vendors to update protocols.
• Performs other duties and maintains reliable attendance.
