Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to prepare, administer, and document diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals in a clinical setting. The role requires adherence to radiation safety practices and accurate patient data documentation for completed exams.

Responsibilities include obtaining medications, verifying patient identity, explaining procedures to patients, and performing measurements to provide diagnostic information.

Qualifications

  • Formal Nuclear Medicine Technology Program completion.
  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB registration; registry eligible if a New Graduate and must be registered within 1 year of hire.
  • One year of direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, administers and documents diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Adheres to department radiation safety practices.
  • Obtains medications/radiopharmaceuticals or contrast materials as directed for administration.
  • Obtains brief patient history and records all pertinent information for finished exams.
  • Verifies patient identity and prepares for procedures.
  • Explains procedures to patient and family members.
  • Performs organ concentration and excretion measurements to aid diagnosis.
